Episcopal Campus Ministry at Western Carolina University

ECM at WCU is an intentional and welcoming community for young adults, ages 18–28, at Western Carolina University and throughout the surrounding community. We gather weekly during the academic year to share a meal, build meaningful relationships, and explore faith together.

Rooted in the traditions of the Episcopal Church, ECM is a place where everyone is welcome—regardless of faith tradition, identity, background, or where you are on your spiritual journey. Whether you have been part of a church your whole life, are exploring faith for the first time, have lots of questions, or simply want a community to belong to, there is a place for you here.

ECM at WCU is a recognized student organization at Western Carolina University and is supported by the Episcopal Diocese of Western North Carolina and St. David’s Episcopal Church in Cullowhee.

Hi, I’m Moe!

I serve as the Campus Missioner for ECM at WCU, and I’m excited to help create a welcoming community where young adults can build relationships, ask meaningful questions, explore their faith, and simply be themselves.

I grew up in Canton, North Carolina, and was raised in the Episcopal Diocese of Western North Carolina, where diocesan youth ministry played an important role in my own faith journey. I graduated from Berea College in 2020 with a degree in Child and Family Studies and Religion and earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Kentucky in 2023.

After several years in Kentucky, I returned home to Western North Carolina and am thrilled to be part of the WCU community. As Campus Missioner, my role is to walk alongside young adults as they navigate college, work, relationships, faith, questions, and all the changes that come with this season of life.

You don’t have to be Episcopalian—or even know what you believe — maybe put this in italics and/or bold! —to reach out. Whether you’re looking for a faith community, need someone to talk with, want to grab coffee, or are just curious about ECM, I’d love to meet you.
